Botti Studio Locations
Botti Studio is located at 1225 Harms Rd. in Glenview, Illinois. The studio space, used for the production of ecclesiastical and commercial artworks, is located at 1500 Lake St. La Porte, Indiana. The paintings of Italo Botti and Ethlyn Panzironi, as well as a fine assortment of art glass are available upon request.

The Artists
Italo Botti (1923-2003)
The late Italo (George) Botti was born in Greenwich Village, New York in 1923. At the age of nine he was awarded a scholarship to the Leonardo da Vinci School of Art. Later, he furthered his studies at the Brooklyn Academy of Fine Arts and the Art Student's League, where he was also an instructor. He worked as a painter, muralist, sculptor, and stained glass artist. Botti served in the Army in World War II, participating in the Normandy Invasion and winning five Bronze Stars. Botti and his wife Ethlyn Panzironi Botti divided their time between Sarasota, Florida, and Evanston, Illinois. Botti Studio’s history in the design and execution of ecclesiastical and lay stained glass windows traces back four generations in the Panzironi family. Italo Botti likened his abstract expressionist style to jazz music.
Ethlyn Panzironi b. 1929
Ethlyn (Lyn) C. Panzironi is the granddaughter of ecclesiastical artist Count Emil Panzironi and daughter of Illario R. Panzironi, renowned muralist, painter and ecclesiastical artist. Ethlyn follows the tradition herself and is known for her work in stained glass, sculpture murals, and painting. Ethlyn exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in group shows and one woman shows, she was trained at the National Academy of Design in New York, and studied in the private classes of Paul Wieghardt and Nelli Barr. She received her BFA from Mundelein College in Chicago, Illinois. Ethlyn Botti and her son, Dominick, were commissioned by Mr. Huss to replicate the crest that one sees when they visit the Huss Gallery on the second floor of the King Home. Mr. Huss’ former administrator, who lives at King Home currently, worked on this project as well.
Ethlyn Panzironi Botti was an artist th the stars, commissioned by the major cinema studios such as MGM and Warner Brothers to provide pastel and oil portraits of their stable of artists such as Humphrey Bogart, Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe, the list goes on and on. She created all the high fashion illustrations in black Indian ink for the Sunday editions of the New York Times from the 1950’s to the early 1990’s, and many books were published using her as the artist.
Locally Ethlyn provided the drawings for the hair designs for the Pivot Point Company and was the first woman artist to have her paintings in the Chicago Art Institute Vicinity Show as well as designing interiors of worship spaces and stained glass windows throughout the world. She was the head of her family’s ecclesiastical art studio, which originated in Florence, Italy in 1726. She merged her studio with her marriage to her late husband, Italo Botti, from Naples, dating back to 1684 to the Botti Studio and Gallery, located just to the east of King Home, where her paintings are exhibited and she continues to design, fabricate stained glass, sculpture, paintings, and commissions, internationally and at home.
